This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is incorporated by reference into Ask Mia’s Terms of Service and governs your use of the Services (as defined in the Terms of Service). By using the Services, you agree to this AUP. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
Ask Mia is an AI-powered legal intake and referral service. We are committed to keeping the service safe, honest, and useful for everyone exploring their legal options. This AUP explains what you may and may not do when using the Services.
1. Restricted Uses
You agree not to use the Services in any unlawful, harmful, or deceptive manner, or in any way that violates another party’s rights or interferes with the operation or integrity of the Services.
Without limiting the above, you agree that you will not, and will not allow any third party to:
- Use the Services in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including privacy laws and attorney advertising rules.
- Provide false, misleading, or fabricated information about yourself, your injury, or your legal situation.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity or your authority to act on behalf of another person.
- Use the Services if you are under 18 years of age.
- Use the Services in connection with matters arising outside the United States, or for any purpose unrelated to a potential personal injury claim.
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on any Content or portion of the Services.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying technology of the Services.
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices from the Services or any Content.
- Use any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, or other automated means to access, retrieve, or index any portion of the Services.
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, security features, or other restrictions implemented in the Services.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, our systems, or the accounts or data of other users.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services or the servers and networks connected to the Services.
- Use any Content or data obtained through the Services to develop, train, fine-tune, or improve any machine learning or artificial intelligence model or system, without our prior written consent.
- Use any Content or data obtained through the Services to create or populate any database, directory, or product that competes with the Services.
- Transmit unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or other commercial communications through or in connection with the Services.
- Use the Services to harass, threaten, defame, or otherwise harm any person.
- Submit any content or information that is unlawful, discriminatory, obscene, abusive, or that violates the rights of any third party.
- Use the Services to practice law, provide legal advice, or create or imply the creation of an attorney-client relationship.
A violation of any of the above is grounds for immediate termination of your right to use the Services.
2. Content You Submit
When you use Ask Mia, you may share information about yourself and your situation through the chat interface, including details about a potential injury, medical treatment, and contact information (“Submitted Content”). You are solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of your Submitted Content.
With respect to Submitted Content, you agree that you will not submit any information that:
- Is false, fabricated, or intentionally misleading.
- Belongs to another person without their authorization.
- Violates the privacy or other rights of any third party.
- Contains viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
Our use of your Submitted Content is governed by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not use your Submitted Content to train AI models. Submitted Content shared through the Services in connection with a referral request may be shared with a licensed partner law firm as described in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
3. Copyright
If you believe that any content available through the Services infringes your copyright, you may notify our designated agent in writing. A valid DMCA notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, including the specific URL or location within the Services.
- Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address).
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Please be aware that submitting a false DMCA notice may result in liability. We may terminate access for users who are repeat infringers.
4. Automated Access and AI Agents
The following terms apply whenever you use, permit, or deploy any software or service that carries out autonomous or semi-autonomous actions to access or interact with the Services on your behalf (an “Agent”).
- An Agent may not access the Services unless it clearly and continuously identifies itself as an Agent.
- Agents must not hide or disguise automated access by mimicking human behavior, bypassing CAPTCHAs, or otherwise evading controls intended to distinguish human from automated interactions.
- Agents must comply with any access restrictions we publish (e.g., robots.txt).
- We may impose limits—including through technical controls—on whether and how any Agent may access the Services, at our sole discretion.
- You are responsible for all actions taken by an Agent on your behalf, as if you had taken those actions yourself.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be posted on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised AUP. If you do not agree to future changes, you must stop using the Services.
