Ask Mia is an AI-powered legal companion that helps individuals in the United States explore whether they may have a personal injury claim. The service is operated by Waves Digital Consulting LLC (“Ask Mia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have. We apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to all users, regardless of where they are located.

We collect information in three ways:

Conversation content

When you use Ask Mia, you may share details about an injury, the circumstances surrounding it, medical treatment, and relevant dates. We collect this information solely to assess whether you may have a viable claim and, if you request it, to facilitate a connection with a licensed attorney.

Contact information

We collect your name, phone number, and email address only if you choose to submit a referral request. This information is not collected passively — you provide it explicitly when you decide you want to be connected with a partner law firm.

Technical and session data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the service, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and general usage patterns. We may also collect signals indicating how you arrived at our service (for example, from an advertisement). This data is used to operate and improve the service.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To conduct the intake process and assess whether your situation may give rise to a personal injury claim.
• To fulfill your request to be connected with a licensed partner law firm, when you choose to submit a referral.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service.
• To improve our marketing and understand how users find us.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your personal information to train AI or machine learning models.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

Licensed partner law firms

If you request a referral, we share your contact information and a summary of your situation with a licensed partner law firm so they can follow up with you. This sharing is at your direction and is the core purpose of the referral service. Providing this referral is not a sale of your data; it is fulfilling the service you requested.

Service providers

We work with third-party companies that help us operate the service — including cloud hosting, database infrastructure, AI processing, and internal operations tooling. These providers access your information only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose. Advertising and measurement partners

We use third-party advertising and measurement platforms to understand whether our marketing leads people to our service. These platforms may receive limited technical identifiers (such as hashed data or anonymized signals) for this purpose. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through your browser settings or your ad platform preferences.

Legal requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

The nature of Ask Mia means you may share details about physical injuries, medical treatment, and personal legal circumstances. We treat this information as sensitive. It is used only to assess your potential claim and, if you choose, to facilitate a referral. It is not used for any secondary commercial purpose, and it is not shared beyond what is described in Section 5.

When you submit a referral request, you provide your explicit consent to be contacted by a licensed partner law firm regarding your potential claim. This contact may occur by phone, text message, or email. Consent is not a condition of receiving the free intake service.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@ask-mia.app. Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any contact that occurred before your withdrawal.

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand how users navigate our service. We may also use cookies that support the advertising measurement described in Section 5.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to authorized personnel only.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information for as long as we have a legitimate business or legal purpose to do so. Consent records related to attorney contact are retained in accordance with applicable legal requirements. When your information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

You may request deletion of your information at any time (see Section 11). We will honor such requests except where we are legally required to retain certain records.

We apply GDPR-level privacy rights to all users of Ask Mia, regardless of where you are located. California residents and users in other US states are covered by the same standard. You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Right of access — to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate information.
• Right to erasure — to request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention obligations.

Ask Mia is an informational service, not a law firm. Nothing in the service constitutes legal advice, and using Ask Mia does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Waves Digital Consulting LLC or any partner law firm. An attorney-client relationship is established only when you formally engage a licensed attorney.

Ask Mia is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at privacy@ask-mia.app and we will delete it promptly.

Ask Mia is designed for use in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the service, you acknowledge this transfer. We apply GDPR-equivalent protections regardless of where your information is processed.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on our website with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
